WAYNESBURG, Pa. – W&J got washed out by Waynesburg in 2-0 loss on the road in Presidents' Athletic Conference play, Saturday afternoon.
The Presidents drop to 4-6-1 overall with a 1-2 mark in conference play. Waynesburg lifts to a 1-2-1 record in PAC play and 5-3-2 overall.
Two early goals in the first half of play were enough to put away the game for Waynesburg. They scored in the 28th minute to take a 1-0 lead before piggybacking on another tally in the 33rd minute of play as well, just a little over five minutes later. W&J was only able to register three shots in the first half of play as they went into their final 45 minutes down 2-0.
Waynesburg remained steady and held the Presidents to just four shots in the second half too, holding a 17-7 edge on shots by the end of the game (12-4 on goal). The Yellow Jackets also held the advantage in corner kicks, 6-2.
Kendall Obley (Buena Vista, Pa./McKeesport) and Audrey Chapman (Elkins Park, Pa./Phil-Mont Christian Academy) paced the Presidents in shots, firing off two each.
Molly Schoch (Burgettstown, Pa./Burgettstown) logged all 90 minutes in goal for W&J, amassing ten saves and picking up her fourth loss of the season. The Presidents return home this week to square off with the Allegheny Gators on Wednesday (Oct. 9). The matchup has a scheduled start time of 7:30 p.m.
