SPARKS, Md. – The Washington & Jefferson women's lacrosse team dropped a 14-7 decision to Dickinson College Monday afternoon in a neutral site game at the USA Lacrosse Facility in Sparks, Md.
The win improves Dickinson to 5-2 overall while W&J drops to 0-5.
Dickinson raced out to an early 5-1 lead after the first before extending their advantage to 9-2 at halftime.
Aisa Uhler (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) and
Caleigh Bogats (Oakdale, Pa./Chartiers Valley) recorded the two first half goals for the Presidents.
Emily Heck (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) scored an unassisted in the third quarter.
The Presidents scored four of the five goals during the fourth quarter. Uhler,
Sofia Jenkins (Hughesville, Md./The Calverton School), Heck and Bogats each scored once over the final 15 minutes.
Bogats recorded a team-high three points while Uhler, Heck and Jenkins all finished with two assists.
Ella Holland (Healdsburg, Calif./Cardinal Newman) finished with eight ground balls and five draw controls. Both totals were team highs and career highs by Holland.
Sammy Hartz (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) finished with five caused turnovers and four ground balls to pace the defensive efforts.
Kaitlyn Brown (Charlotte Hall, Md./La Plata) made 12 saves over her 60 minutes of work in goal.
W&J returns to action when non-conference play continues Wednesday at Marymount University. Start time in Arlington, Va. is scheduled for 4 p.m.
