Scout Zaas (Powell, Ohio / Wellington School) earned recognition from the Presidents' Athletic Conference as its Hitter of the Week.
Zaas compiled a .556 average (10-for-18), a .579 on-base percentage and a 1.056 Slugging Percentage during a 4-0 week that helped W&J stay unbeaten in PAC play He finished the week with 10 RBI, nine runs scored and five extra base hits, including two doubles and a home run in a 17-7 game-two win over Franciscan Tuesday.
Zaas totaled seven RBI and six runs scored during Sunday's doubleheader sweep versus Waynesburg, who entered the matchup winners of seven straight and ranked second in the PAC standings.
Zaas is among the conference leaders in batting average (.455), OPS (1.296), runs (27), hits (40), home runs (6), RBI (32), total bases (66) and on-base percentage (.546).
W&J, winners of 12-straight, returns to action on Wednesday, April 17 with a non-conference doubleheader versus Point Park.
