Three W&J football games highlight KDKA college football schedule

Pittsburgh – CBS Pittsburgh (KDKA-TV) announces today that it will again be the home of local high school and Division III college football this fall. KDKA+ will air Friday night high school football and Saturday Division III local college football games, with simultaneous streaming on CBS News Pittsburgh and KDKA.com.

"Football is part of the rich history of Southwestern Pennsylvania," said KDKA-TV president and general manager Chris Cotugno. "Because it is a common thread that connects our communities, it is important that we broadcast local high school and college games every weekend, providing our viewers with an opportunity to see games they might not otherwise have a chance to see." In addition to local news and entertainment programming, local sports and unique programming have remained a high priority for KDKA-TV.  Since its inception on September 1, 2023, KDKA+ has launched broadcast partnerships with the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. It has also aired specials such as Elite 18 Golf and Drafting a Dynasty: How the 1974 Draft Defined a Generation.

There has yet to be an announcement of broadcast play-by-play/color/sideline teams. JRM Video Production, a Pittsburgh-based video production company specializing in live sports, will produce the broadcasts.  According to owner Jake Mysliwczyk, "This year, JRM will provide a vastly improved viewing experience for fans to include advanced technology such as virtual 1st down and line-of-scrimmage markers."

JRM Video Production has produced the home video streams of W&J football since 2021.

In addition to the September 28 and October 19 home broadcasts from Cameron Stadium, JRM Video will broadcast the online streams for the September 7 (St. Vincent), October 12 (Geneva), and October 26 (Bethany) at Cameron Stadium.  Those games can be viewed live on GoPresidents.com and the PAC Digital Network.

W&J football can also be heard live each week on WJPA Radio (95.3 FM/1450 AM/WJPA.com).  The 2023 season marked 40 years of W&J football play-by-play coverage on WJPA by Bob Gregg.  From the first game of the 1984 season, WJPA has brought the fans in Washington all of the action as the Presidents have boasted more than 300 wins, a winning percentage over .800, 25 PAC titles and two Stagg Bowl appearances.   Overall, WJPA has provided coverage of W&J football for nearly 80 years.

"We are very thankful for the coverage of W&J and Presidents' Athletic Conference football last season and we are excited that coverage will continue in 2024," said Director of Athletics Scott McGuinness.  "The high quality of football in this conference is on display every Saturday and if you can't make it to one of our campuses to watch in person, we encourage you to check us out on KDKA+ or KDKA.com.  With our broadcast partners like Bob Gregg at WJPA Radio and Jake at JRM Video Production, we feel Presidents' football has the best week-by-week coverage in NCAA Division III."
