THE SERIES: The Washington & Jefferson Presidents travel to the Allegheny College Gators for the 46th matchup between the programs on the gridiron. W&J leads the all-time series with a 24-20-1 record. The Presidents have won 15 of the last 16 matchups against the Gators, including each of the last seven. Since Allegheny returned to the PAC in 2022, W&J has won all three matchups. The Presidents have won all seven matchups against Allegheny in the
Mike Sirianni era.
RICH TRADITION: The Washington & Jefferson football program has won 801 games in its 132-year history (802–409–40), ranking third among NCAA Division III schools behind Mount Union (882) and Wittenberg (809). Wabash (737) and Widener (737) round out the D-III top five. Across all NCAA divisions, the Presidents' win total places them 22nd all-time. The program's 28 PAC titles stand as the most in league history and its 28 NCAA Playoff appearances are the third-most among Division III schools. W&J football also holds a streak of 42 consecutive winning seasons, the third longest active streak of its kind trailing only Linfield (69) and Mount Union (47).
HALFWAY HOME: W&J has thrived under
Mike Sirianni when leading at halftime, posting a 164–6 record (.965) in such games.
COUNT ON DA'JAHN: Presidents' cornerback
Da'Jahn Telfair (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) has picked off a pass in back-to-back weeks. The junior played a key role in a secondary that held Geneva and Bethany's potent aerial attacks to 32 and 73 passing yards respectively.
W&J VS. THE PAC: The Presidents have won 17 consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference games by an average margin of 36.5 points. The Presidents maintain a winning record against every current PAC program.

STARTING OUT SHARP: Junior
Andrew Sharp (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) put together another dominant performance last week against Geneva, rushing for 143 yards and two touchdowns while adding another score on a reception. Sharp ranks near the top of the Division III leaderboards in most rushing statistics, including seventh in rushing yards per game (142.6), sixth in yards per carry (8.29), and 18th in rushing touchdowns (8).
SHUT 'EM OUT: W&J has shut out three opponents this season. It marks the first time the Presidents have posted three shutouts in one season since the 2005 campaign. W&J's defense has also pitched a shutout in four consecutive home games going back to last season.
ON THE AIR WITH WJPA: Since the 1984 season opener, Bob Gregg has been the voice of W&J football on WJPA Radio. During that span, the Presidents have recorded more than 300 wins, a winning percentage above .800, 27 PAC titles, and two Stagg Bowl appearances. Gregg and longtime broadcast partner Mark Uriah were honored in 2023 with the Dow Carnahan Media Award at PAC Football Media Day. Uriah has since retired from the booth, while Gregg returns for his 43rd season covering W&J football. Gregg will be joined by
Jack Sacco and his father John Sacco, who was the 2025 Carnahan Award recipient.
THE NEW KID IN TOWN: Freshman quarterback
Braylon Wagner (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) has burst on to the scene, throwing for four touchdowns in each of his first two career starts. The newcomer has completed 66% of his attempts this season while showing off his explosive rushing ability. Wagner has touchdown runs of 77 and 32 this season. The freshman was named earned PAC Newcomer of the Week honors for the second week in a row.
GROUND AND POUND: The Presidents rolled up 357 rushing yards against Bethany last week, making it the third consecutive game where W&J cleared the 300-yard rushing threshold. Prior to the streak, the Presidents had never surpassed 300 rushing yards in consecutive games under
Mike Sirianni. The performance was just the 18th time that W&J reached the 300 rushing yard milestone under Sirianni. With four rushers finding the end zone for the Presidents against Bethany, the program's streak of games with a rushing touchdown is up to 31 games.
JUMPIN' JOEY: Junior receiver
Joey DeSabato (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler Area) made one of the catches of the year in last week's matchup against Bethany. DeSabato made the 41-yard grab, knocking the ball out of the air, before a no-look, overhead snag just before the ball hit the turf.
SCOUTING ALLEGHENY: The Presidents travel to Meadville to take on the 5-0 Allegheny Gators. The Gators have been strong this season thanks to a tough defense that focuses on stopping the run. Allegheny ranks fourth in the nation in rushing defense, allowing 43.2 yards per game on the ground. Overall, Allegheny has allowed 13 points per game and 213.8 total yards per game.
The Gators have also done well offensively, scoring 32.2 points per game. Allegheny has leaned more on the passing offense and quarterback Carson Colucci. The junior averages over two passing touchdowns per game and has added a pair of scores on the ground.
The turnover margin has been a key area for the Gators, as the team is plus-seven on the year (14 turnovers forced to 7 turnovers lost).
