Scoring Barrage Pushes W&J past Carlow in Second-Straight Victory

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – A two goal outing for Senior Skylar Bibbee (Fairfax, Va./Chantilly) helped the Washington & Jefferson women's soccer team surpass the Celtics in second straight win on Tuesday night, 7-0.

The win elevates the Presidents to a 2-1-1 overall record while the Celtics dip to 0-2-1.

W&J would find their first goal from Selah Calacan (Waldorf, Md./North Point) off a pass from senior midfielder Olivia Olsen (Boiling Springs, Pa/Boiling Springs) in the ninth minute of play.

After six more shots from the Presidents, Olsen would be the next to find the net in the 31st minute of play to set the score at 2-0 going into the second 45 minutes of play.

A strong offensive second half sealed the deal for the Red & Black as they tallied five more goals to take home the 7-0 shutout.

Bibbee was the first to score in the second half for W&J on a pass off of a free kick from fellow senior midfielder Sydney Hoover (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township).

Camille Smith joined the scoring action next as she put in a strong unassisted shot to register the Presidents fourth goal in the 50th minute of play.

W&J's next two goals would come a minute apart with Kendall Obley (Buena Vista, Pa./McKeesport) finding the net unassisted at the 58:15 mark before Bibbee sent one past the goalie off of a pass from Smith at the 59:16 mark quickly giving the Presidents an even further lead of 6-0.

Three more shots would be attempted by W&J before the final goal by Sydney Snyder (Loudonville, Ohio/Loudonville) would find its way into the net at the 83:52 mark for a final score of 7-0.

Senior goalkeeper Kalea Umali (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) tallied two saves on the night to capture the first shutout of the season for the Presidents.

W&J will be back on the pitch Saturday (Sept. 14) afternoon for another nonconference bout against Juniata College at the Henry H. and Joanie R. Gibbel Stadium in Huntingdon, Pa. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
