W&J Bested by Mount Aloysius in Nonconference Matchup, 3-0

CRESSON, Pa. – Mount Aloysius scored a goal in the first half of play and two more in the third to claim a 3-0 victory over the Washington & Jefferson College men's soccer team on Saturday afternoon in Cresson, Pa.

W&J drops to a 3-4 overall record so far this season while Mount Aloysius improves its record to 4-3-1.

The Mounties scored their first goal in the fifth minute of play on a penalty kick opportunity. Their next two goals were netted in the 49th and 59th minutes of the second half.

Sophomores Justin Parker Wyatt (Coatesville, Pa./Unionville) and Logen Mackey (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) led the offensive efforts for the Presidents with two shots on goal apiece in the day trip.

Mount Aloysius held the advantage in shots 14-6 (8-4 on goal) and W&J had the advantage in corner kicks 4-1.

Senior keeper Charles Boldosser (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) and Sophomore keeper Graeme Ewart (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) split time in the net for the Presidents. Boldosser logged time in goal for the first half of play followed up by Ewart for the last half of the outing. Boldosser made three saves while Ewart tallied two.

W&J returns home on Wednesday (Sept. 25) to open Presidents' Athletic Conference play, hosting Geneva College. The scheduled start time is 7:30 PM.
