Boldosser, Haczela Hold Defending PAC Champion Geneva to Scoreless Conference Opener

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson Men's Soccer team battled to a tie against defending PAC Champions Geneva College on Wednesday (Sept. 25), in both teams' first Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup.

W&J settles to a 3-4-1 overall record while the Golden Tornadoes settle to a 6-0-2. Both teams are now 0-0-1 in conference play.

Senior Charles Boldosser (Westminster, Md./Westminster) made all five saves during his 67:37 in goal. Senior Tyler Haczela (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) recorded 22:23 in the net and made all three saves that came his way as well in his first appearance this year and second career appearance overall.

The Golden Tornadoes almost spoiled the shutout for the Red & Black with two rapid shots fired in quick succession. Haczela was able to deflect the first before pulling in the second, fending off the Geneva offense.

Geneva cornered the market on both shots (14-1) and corner kicks (7-1) during the 90 minutes of play.

Justin Parker Wyatt (Coatesville, Pa./Unionville) led the offense with the only shot of the outing for the Presidents.

W&J returns to action next on Saturday (Sept. 28) at Alexandre Stadium for their 1:00 p.m. matchup against Oberlin College for Homecoming weekend.
