NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College women's tennis team logged a slim defeat against the Westminster Titans, 4-3.
The loss snaps a two-match win streak, effectively dropping the Presidents to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.
The Presidents were swept in the doubles matches all recording 6-2 outcomes, losing the doubles team point, 1-0.
W&J saw their only success in the singles matches, picking up three total victories just short o the four needed to take their first win over the Titans since 2021.
Nidhi Pulicherla (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) picked up the first win of the day for the Presidents at No. 1 singles, earning a 6-4, 6-0 win.
Claire Loomis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) recorded another win for W&J by mid-match forfeit after leading 4-1.
Paisley Cole (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna High School) registered the Presidents final victory of the day at No. 4 singles. Cole won her singles match in three sets 6-3, 1-6, 10-8.
The Presidents look to bounce back in conference play this Thursday (Sept. 26) as they host Geneva. The match is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
