Schoch Notches 18 Saves Against Denison

WASHINGTON, Pa. – After winning their first Presidents' Athletic Conference meeting of the season against Geneva Wednesday night, the Washington & Jefferson Women's Soccer team were shutout in a 2-0 loss to Denison University Friday (Sept. 27).

The Presidents drop to a 4-4-1 overall record with the loss and remain 1-0-0 in conference play. Big Red improved to 4-3-2 overall.

Denison scored in the 19th minute of play followed by another tally in the 33rd minute. The two Denison goals were the only scores of the first half and ultimately the rest of the contest.

Denison controlled play throughout the contest, outperforming the Presidents in major offensive categories including total shots (33–0) and shots on goal (22–0). Big Red cornered the market in corner kicks for the contest as well, registering all four.

Molly Schoch (Burgettstown, Pa./ Burgettstown) logged one of her better outings in net for the Red & Black, compiling 18 saves in her full 90-minute effort.

W&J will hit the pitch again when they travel to Franciscan on Wednesday (Oct.2), under the lights for a 7:30 p.m.
