TRAFFORD, Pa. - Washington & Jefferson College men's basketball freshman Cameron Rowell (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) has been named Presidents' Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week, announced by the conference Monday (Jan. 27).
 
The versatile Rowell shot 76 percent (13-17) from the field while averaging 18 points, six rebounds, four steals and 1.5 blocks per game in a 1-1 week. In his first career start, Rowell was 6-for-6 from the floor and dropped 19 points, six rebounds, three blocks and three steals in a last-second loss at first-place Chatham. Remaining in the starting lineup, he tacked on 17 points, six rebounds, five steals and two assists in an 88-79 victory at Westminster.
 
W&J hosts Grove City on Wednesday (Jan. 29) in the Salvitti Family Gymnasium. Start time is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
