PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College women's soccer team (4-7-2, 1-3-2) was defeated by the Chatham Cougars (8-3-2, 5-1-0) on the road by a score of 1-0.
The Presidents started the game strong offensively as they had four shots in the first ten minutes, three of which were on target. Neither team could find the back of the net in the first half. Chatham had an 8-5 advantage in shots and were leading 5-1 on corner kicks.
The Cougars opened the second half with the lone goal of the contest, scoring only thirty seconds into the final frame. The Presidents' defensive line held strong to prevent the Cougars from scoring a brace in the match. Freshman
Rylin Bugosh (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant) tried one last-ditch effort, but W&J ultimately ran out of time.

Gianna Patterson (Fox Chapel, Pa./Fox Chapel) played all 90 minutes in goal and picked up a season high 12 saves in the performance.
The Presidents looked to regroup when they return to Alexandre Stadium to take on the Saint Vincent Bearcats. Kickoff on Wednesday (Oct. 15) will be at 7:00 p.m.
