WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College women's soccer team (4-8-2, 1-4-2) fell 3-1 to the Saint Vincent Bearcats (10-2-1, 4-1-1) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference clash.
The Bearcats started the match out strong, getting the opening goal in the ninth minute. The Presidents settled into the match as it remained a 1-0 scoreline until the half. W&J had an opportunity to equalize but were denied by the post. At the interval, Saint Vincent had a 7-2 lead in shots and a 3-0 advantage on corner kicks.

Maura Heberle (Hookstown, Pa./South Side Beaver) scored the equalizer in the 49
th minute on an assist by freshman
Rylin Bugosh (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant). This was Heberle's fourth goal of the season and Bugosh's second assist. The game was looking like it was heading for a draw, but the Bearcats were able to score two goals in the last ten minutes.
Freshman
Gianna Patterson (Fox Chapel, Pa./Fox Chapel) got her fifth start in goal and played all 90 minutes. She picked up 11 saves in this evening's contest.
The Presidents look to rebound on Saturday (Oct. 18) when they travel to take on the Thiel Tomcats. Kickoff from Greenville will be at 12:00 p.m.
