GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team (8-7-2, 4-5-1) falls to the conference leading Grove City Wolverines (12-2-2, 9-0-1) in the final Presidents' Athletic Conference road matchup of the regular season.
The Presidents defense held strong in the first half. W&J's back line withstood all eight shots from the Wolverines in the opening frame. At the half, Grove City had an eight to one shot edge and a four to nothing advantage on quarter kicks.
The Presidents defense continued to stop five more attempts by the Wolverines. W&J tried to find a goal after Grove City broke through, getting three of their five total attempts in the last twenty minutes. The Presidents ultimately could not find their way through the Grove City defense.
Junior
Graeme Ewart (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) and freshman
Logan Joseph (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) each played one half of action. Ewart picked up five saves and Joseph stopped another four.
The Presidents look to regroup when they return home for their final regular season PAC match against the Westminster Titans. Kickoff from Alexandre Stadium will be on Wednesday (Oct. 23) at 7:00 p.m.
