MEADVILLE, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College women's soccer (4-6-2, 1-2-2) was defeated by the Allegheny Gators (3-6-4, 2-1-2), 5-1.

The Gators jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half with a goal in the 28th minute. Despite the early lead, the Presidents stuck with the opposition on the stat sheet. Allegheny held a small edge in shot 8-6 and the advantage in corner kicks with a 6-2 margin.

Allegheny came out of the gates firing on all cylinders with three goals in the span of a little over two minutes of play. W&J netted its first response of the evening in the 78th minute as the productive junior forward Maura Heberle (Hookstown, Pa./South Side Beaver) scored her third goal of the year off an assist from freshman defender Ally Zidek (New Kensington, Pa./Kiski Area). The Gators added a goal with seven seconds remaining to ensure the victory, 5-1.

Molly Schoch (Burgettstown, Pa./Burgettstown) played all 90 minutes in goal with seven saves.
