TRAFFORD, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College forward Alex Acosta (Acworth, Ga./North Cobb) has been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday (Nov. 17).
 
Acosta was a pivotal piece to the Presidents' 3-0 week, averaging 10.3 points and 11.7 rebounds while adding four steals and three blocked shots on the week with a .480 shooting percentage from the floor (12-for-25). Acosta scored the game-winner for the Presidents through a tip-in with 2.1 seconds remaining in the second half to beat Arcadia in the first game of the Widener Tip-Off Tournament. Against the Knights, Acosta posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds and nearly duplicated his output against Penn State-Abington with a 13-point, 13-rebound performance in their win over the Nittany Lions.
 
The Presidents return to Salvetti Family Gymnasium for their home opener against the Carnegie Mellon Tartans on Tuesday (Nov. 18). Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
