MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Five Washington & Jefferson College football players have been named to the D3football.com All-Region Teams following the conclusion of 2025 season, as announced by the media organization on Wednesday (Dec. 10).
The 21st annual All-Region Teams were nominated selected in balloting by sports information directors in each region and D3football.com staff. Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools, and schools and conferences were contacted multiple times as the season wound down to remind them to make their players eligible. In total, 1,062 players were nominated. All-Region teams are selected in balloting by sports information directors in each region and D3football.com staff. All players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for the D3football.com All-America Team.
Two Presidents have been named to the Offensive Second Team and an additional three have been named to the Third Defensive Team for Region 2. This region includes teams from western and central Pennsylvania, western New York, Maryland, and northern Virginia.
Senior wide receiver
John Peduzzi (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Christian Academy) has earned Second Team All-Region honors this season, the second time appearing on the All-Region list in his career. The captain had a career high 77 receptions this season for a total of 1068 yards. This season marked the third straight season he reached the 1,000 receiving yard mark and the second consecutive both Peduzzi and
Jacob Macosko (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) each surpassed the mark in the same season. Peduzzi led the team with 15 touchdowns and averaged 97.09 yards per game. He ranked ninth in Division III for receiving touchdowns and 14
th for total receiving yards.
Peduzzi climbed the ranks in the W&J record book in his final season for the Presidents. The senior wideout finished in a tie for the most receiving touchdowns in program history with Jesse Zubik at 54 touchdowns. Peduzzi also ranks second in career receiving yards (4,168) and third in career receptions (250).
Additionally, offensive lineman
Grant Lefeld (Northfield, Ohio/Nordonia) was also named to the Second Team All-Region. The freshman guard helped limit opponents to only 21 sacks on the season, just under two per game. He is one of two freshmen on the All-Region 2 list as a freshman, the highest finishing first year in the region. Lefeld opened gaps for W&J rushers to score 32 touchdowns. Lefeld headed an offensive line that helped W&J rank 14
th nationally in scoring offenses among Division III institutions, averaging 43.5 points per game. Lefeld was one of only three freshmen to receive All-PAC First or Second Team honors weeks ago.
A trio of Presidents were also selected for the Third Team All-Region including
Antoine Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic),
Dante DeRubbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity), and
Angelo Volomino (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson).
Defensive end
Antoine Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) led the team with 12 tackles for loss and 7.0 sacks. The junior finished the season with 17 solo tackles and 23 assisted tackles. Smith had one forced fumble and eight quarterback hurries on the year. He helped lead a defense that only gave up an average of 17.5 points per game.
Safety
Dante DeRubbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity) led the Presidents with seven interceptions on the season. The sophomore is tied for fourth nationally in the category. DeRubbo is also ranked fifth in the country for interceptions per game with 0.64. He finished the season with 22 tackles, five pass breakups, a quarterback hurry, and a fumble recovery. DeRubbo finished three interceptions away from tying the single-season record, held by Ricky Williams '92 and Mark Persichette '75 with 10 picks. He wrapped the season tied for fifth on the single-season interceptions list at W&J.
Cornerback
Angelo Volomino (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) led the team with 11 pass breakups. Volomino ranked in a tie for 16th nationally for pass breakups. He averaged one pass breakup per game. The senior captain also had 23 tackles on the season for a career high. On special teams, Volomino totaled 90 punt return yards for an average of 10.22 yards per return. The All-PAC First Team selection also finished the season with four interceptions.
W&J finished the 2025 campaign with an 8-3 overall record and an 8-0 in conference to obtain the 28
th Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship in program history. The Presidents made the NCAA national tournament for the 28
th time as well.
