TRAFFORD, Pa. - Washington & Jefferson College men's basketball freshman Cameron Rowell (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) has been named Presidents' Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week, announced by the conference Monday (Feb. 17). Rowell has now been awarded PAC Newcomer of the Week for the third time this season.
 
Rowell averaged 16 points, five rebounds, three steals and 1.5 assists per game in PAC victories over Allegheny and Waynesburg last week. Against Allegheny, he shot 70 percent (7-10) from the field while scoring 16 points and hauled in five rebounds. In a comeback victory over the Yellow Jackets, the first-year President dropped another 16-point performance with five boards and four steals. Rowell sparked the rally against Waynesburg with three minutes remaining in regulation, contributing six total points to their 12-point comeback.
 
The Presidents travel to Thiel for a conference game on Wednesday (Feb. 19). Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
