Men’s Lacrosse Adds Third Win at Earlham, 12-5

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Washington & Jefferson College men's lacrosse team picked up a road victory over the Earlham Quakers, 12-5.
 
The Presidents elevate their 2025 overall record to 3-4 on the year. Earlham drops to 3-6 on the season overall.
 
Paul Shook (Camp Hill, Pa./Trinity) led W&J offensively with his third hat trick of the season, adding five ground balls to his totals. Braden Petrarco (Irwin, Pa./Norwin), Sean McCaffrey (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) and Dylan Batche (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) each tacked on two goals each. Colin Golebiewski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum), Zach Mey (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) and Olin Putz (Rochester, Mich./Stoney Creek) also found the back of the net on the night.
 
Austin Hopkins (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) led the defense with five caused turnovers with four ground balls. Golebiewski and Petrarco led the team with six ground balls each.
 
The Presidents jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first quarter of regulation. Petrarco kicked off the scoring for each side with an unassisted goal at the 11:28 mark. Minutes later, Golebiewski found Shook for his first score of the night to build their 2-0 advantage.
 
W&J continued to pour it on in the second, netting two rapid goals upon the start of the period. Petrarco found McCaffrey for a goal at the 13:31 mark which was followed by a goal 37 seconds later by Batche on a solo effort. A Golebiewski faceoff victory and ground ball set up the rapid offensive strike between goals. After the Quakers mounted their first score with nine minutes remaining in the half, the Presidents responded with another two-goal run from McCaffrey and Golebiewski to take a 6-1 lead into the half.
 
W&J and Earlham came out of the half trading scores, 8-3. Putz and Petrarco netted unassisted goals in the trading of goals. Before the final quarter, Petrarco found Mey for the captain's first score of the game, 9-3.
 
The Quakers added two goals to start the fourth quarter in an attempt to chip away at the 9-5 lead. The Presidents netted three insurance goals to close out their third victory of the season, 12-5. Shook netted two in the final run while Batche bookended the scoring.
 
Sophomore Stephen Moschetta (Washington, Pa./Trinity) picked up his third win of the season with 60 minutes in goal and a season-high 21 saves.
 
W&J returns home this Saturday (March 22) to face off with the visiting Trine Thunder. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Alexandre stadium.
