BEREA, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College baseball team (18-5) poured on an offensive barrage in a 14-6 victory over the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets (15-11) in nonconference play.
Brian Feldman (Gibsonia, Pa./Eden Christian Academy) led the way for the Presidents with a 4-for-5 performance at the plate. The sophomore slugger finished a triple shy of the cycle, with two doubles, a home run and three runs batted in.
Jacob LaDuca (Clarence, N.Y./Canisius) went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a walk. LaDuca also batted in his 100
th-career run.
Josh Dezenzo (Alliance, Ohio/Marlington) added the first run of the game on a leadoff homer in the top of the second. Feldman scored later in the inning on a wild pitch, 2-0.

Scout Zaas (Powell, Ohio/Wellington School) flyout in the third advanced LaDuca to third and home through an errant throw by the center fielder, 3-0.
W&J mustered a four-run inning in the fourth inning.
Paddy Hernjak (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) drove in Feldman on a single to right field. A sacrifice fly by LaDuca and groundout by Zaas drove in more runs Hernjak closed out the inning scoring on a passed ball from third to put the Presidents up 7-1.
Feldman opened the fifth inning with a double that scored Dezenzo from first base. Hernjak flew out to score Feldman on a sacrifice fly. Zaas drove in his second run of the game on a bases loaded walk to push the Presidents lead to 10-1.
Feldman pushed the Red & Black lead to 12-1 with a two-run homer in the midst of the sixth that scored
Knox Meier (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Prep). Meier's single to lead off the sixth expanded his streak to 16-consecutive games with at least one hit.
The Yellow Jackets added a run in the seventh and four in the eighth to reduce the Presidents lead to 12-6. W&J added insurance runs in the ninth on an RBI single and walk by
Eli Owens (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) and
Ben Schuler (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette), respectively. The Presidents maintained their 14-6 advantage in the bottom of the ninth to secure the win.
Erik Streussnig (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) picked up his fifth win of the season with one strikeout. Streussnig now holds a 5-0 record on the year.
Justin Giarrusso (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum),
Ethan Marszalek (Katy, Texas/Seven Lakes) and
Dante DiMatteo (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) all worked an inning of relief.
W&J remains on the road this Sunday (April 13) with a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader with Saint Vincent. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
