Bogats Reaches Milestone Goal Mark as W&J Records Sixth Straight Win

LATROBE, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College women's lacrosse team ripped off the first 10 goals to extend their winning streak to six games after securing a 17-1 victory over Saint Vincent College in Presidents' Athletic Conference play at UPMC Field in Westmoreland County.

W&J moves to 8-4 overall and 6-1 in league play. Saint Vincent drops to 3-11 overall and 1-6 in the conference.

Six Presidents recorded at least two goals in the victory. Caleigh Bogats (Oakdale, Pa./Chartiers Valley) highlighted the victory with a hat trick. The three-goal effort helped Bogats become the 11th player in program history to reach the 100 career goal mark. Brynne Stewart (Painesville, Ohio/Andrews Osborne Academy) finished with a game-high four goals to pace the scoring efforts.

Ella Holland (Healdsburg, Calif./Cardinal Newman) finished with a game-high five points (two goals, three assists) to go along with four caused turnovers and three ground balls, both of which were game highs. Mya Bolinda (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) added a four-point effort with a pair of goals and two assists.

W&J ripped off 10-straight goals to start the game. Bogats opened the scoring with career goal number 100. Brianna Nader (Cochranton, Pa./Conneaut Area), Bolinda, Holland and Avery Byard (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) followed with respective scores to make it 5-0 less than four minutes into the game. The lead reached 10-0 when Anna Kloehn (Canton, Ohio/Jackson) scored with 45 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

A pair of goals by Stewart and another by Kloehn extended the lead to 13-0 at halftime. Ella Phillips (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) and Bogats added third quarter scores as W&J carried a 15-1 lead into the fourth. Holland and Stewart concluded the scoring with a goal each in the final 15 minutes.

Gianna Baker (Carlisle, Pa./Trinity) picked up the victory in goal.

W&J returns to action with a home contest against Bethany on Friday (April 18). Start time at Alexandre Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
