Men’s Soccer Suffers First Loss of the Season to Randolph-Macon

ASHLAND, Va. – The Washington & Jefferson College men's soccer team (3-1-1) was defeated by the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets (4-1) by a 2-0 score on the road in Virginia.

The Presidents' defensive backline held strong throughout the first half, taking a scoreless draw into the break.  The Presidents were held shotless and did not earn a corner in the first half.

The Yellow Jackets picked up where they left off in the second half as they broke through in the 55th and 59th minutes to take the 2-0 victory.

In goal, junior Graeme Ewart (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) made nine saves in 77 minutes of action.  Additionally, freshman Finn Grinnell (Mount Joy, Pa./Elizabethtown Area) made two saves in 13 minutes of play.

The Presidents head back to their home pitch on Wednesday (Sept. 17) when they host the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats.  Kickoff will commence at 7:00 p.m.
