Gogol, Ngugi Elevate Presidents Past Pitt-Greensburg, 2-0

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College men's soccer team (4-1-1) earned its fourth victory of the season in a midweek match against the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats (3-3-2), 2-0.

Each side took a scoreless draw into the half following the first period of play. W&J outshot Pitt-Greensburg 9-2 and held a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.

W&J broke the standoff in the 54th minute as junior captain Jimmy Gogol (Westminster, Md./Westminster) netted a one timer past the Bobcats goalkeeper to put the Presidents up, 1-0. Michael Ngugi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) put the game away in the 87th minute, scoring his first collegiate goal with a chip over the opposing keeper, 2-0.

Graeme Ewart (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) and Logan Joseph (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) each split time in the combined shutout. Ewart started the contest and finished with one save. Joseph completed the match without facing a shot on target.
