GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College women's soccer team (3-4) was shutout in weekend action against the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats (3-5-1), 6-0.
The Bobcats got on the offensive in rapid fashion to start the weekend contest, scoring three goals in the first half. Pitt-Greensburg held an 8-1 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks taking a 3-0 into the half.
The Presidents opponents added three more goals in the second half to glide their way to a 6-0 victory over W&J.
Natalie Faingnaert (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township),
Katelyn Burley (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) and
Ava Capozzoli (Canonsburg, Pa./Chartiers Houston) each launched a shot on target.
Adysson Davis (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) saw her first action in goal for the Presidents, finishing with four saves.
The Presidents look to rebound on Tuesday (Sept. 23) as they open Presidents' Athletic Conference play against the Geneva Golden Tornadoes. First touch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
