NEWVILLE, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson college cross country teams each finished in the top five as a team at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational. The women finished third while the men place fifth.
Claire Anderson (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) led the way for the W&J women, winning the women's 6k with a blazing time of 21:55.6. Her meet time currently ranks fourth all-time at W&J in program history.
Chloe LoCastro (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) finished next up for the Presidents in 13
th place with a time of 23:57.8.
Genevieve Ruth (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville Broadview Heights) and
Maria Gilles (North Ridgeville, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) finished back-to-back for W&J in 24
th and 25
th place, posting respective times of 24:45.1 and 24:49.8.
Dominic Flitcraft (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) led the men's 8k for the Presidents, placing sixth with a time of 26:13.9. Flitcraft finished 12.9 seconds off of the top finisher in the invite.
Wyatt Stroup (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata) concluded the afternoon close behind Flitcraft in 10
th place with a time of 26:49.2.
Both teams return to the course on Saturday (Oct. 4) as they travel to Louisville, Ky. For the Greater Louisville Classic.
