NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College track & field teams wrapped competition at the Muskie Meet #1 hosted by the Muskingum Fighting Muskies. The
 
The Presidents were led by Tavan Schoenberger (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) on the men's side. The junior placed third in the triple jump with a top leap of 12.70 meters (41' 8").
 
Anthony Cestaro III (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers) led the men's sprinters with a top mark in the 60-meter dash. The senior runner placed 7^th in the finals with a time of 7.11.
 
Nick DeSanto (Erie, Pa./McDowell) finished in a tie for sixth place with a jump the height of 1.83 meters (6' 0") in the high jump. Collin Dusman (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) placed 10^th in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:13.56.
 
Freshman Myleigh Mashburn (Monongahela, Pa./Ringgold) led the W&J women with a fifth-place finish in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:27.21.
 
Sarah Schneider (Warren, Ohio/Lordstown) took two top 10 finishes on the afternoon. Schneider's best performance was in the long jump with a seventh-place finish and top jump of 4.81 meters (15' 9.50"). She also finished 8^th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.40.
 
Freshman Ella Neil (California, Pa./California Area) rounded out the top finishers for the W&J women. Neil finished in a tie for ninth in the high jump with a height of 1.50 meters (4' 11").
 
The W&J track & field teams return to Muskingum for the Muskie Meet #2 on Saturday (Jan. 24). The meet is scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. start.
