NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Washington & Jefferson College track & field teams wrapped action at the Muskie Meet #2 hosted by the Muskingum Fighting Muskies. The women led the way finishing second while the men placed sixth.

Leading the W&J women was senior
Sarah Schneider (Warren, Ohio/Lordstown) who took two top finishes. Schneider finished first in the long jump with a top leap of 5.08 meters (16' 8"). She also finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a mark of 10.03.

Maria Gilles (North Ridgeville, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) posted a productive day on the track. Gilles highlighted her day with a first-place finish in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:22.46. She also coasted to a fourth-place mark in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:45.32.

Abigael Nicolas (Monongahela, Pa./Ringgold) took second place in the high jump with a height of 1.50 meters (4' 11"). Fellow freshman jumper
Ella Neil (California, Pa./California Area) finished third in the triple jump with a top jump of 9.69 meters (31' 9.50").

Lainey Hartner (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) and
Genevieve Ruth (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville Broadview Heights) each took third in their respective events. Hartner raced to a 1:06.42 mark in the 400-meter dash while Ruth paced her way to a time of 5:38.00 in the 1-mile run.

Anthony Cestaro III (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers) posted a strong performance for a second-consecutive week in Ohio. The senior sprinter finished first in the 200-meter dash with a meet record time of 22.53. He also won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.03.

Junior jumper
Nick DeSanto (Erie, Pa./McDowell) won the high jump with a height of 1.93 meters (6' 4"). Fellow junior
Tavan Schoenberger (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 12.93 meters (42' 5").

Daniel Petersen (Monongahela, Pa./Ringgold) wrapped W&J's top five finishers with a fifth-place mark in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:05.62.

The W&J track & field teams look to travel back to Ohio next weekend for the YSU Mid-Major Invitational hosted by Division I Youngstown State.
