2/11/2026 3:20:00 PM

MARIETTA, Ohio – Washington & Jefferson College head softball coach Marissa (McDaniel) Rush has been announced as one of the five individuals slated to be enshrined in the Marietta College Hall of Fame.

"It's an honor to be inducted into the Marietta Athletics Hall of Fame," said Rush. "Marietta College helped mold me into the person I am today and put me in position to have the career path that I currently do which led me to W&J. Marietta will always hold a special place in my heart."

Rush earned four varsity letters as a catcher on the Pioneer softball team under Hall of Fame coach Jeanne Arbuckle. She served as a team captain her senior season and was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Rush earned second team All-Region honors in 2011. A three-time second team All-OAC honoree, Rush led the Pioneers to the OAC Tournament in 2013. She currently ranks eighth on Marietta's career list for runs batted in and for walks drawn.

Rush entered her ninth year as the Presidents' head coach in the 2025-26 academic year, holding a 99-137-1 career record at W&J. Rush has coached a total of 21 All-Presidents' Athletic Conference selections, including six All-PAC First Team players. Under her tutelage Rush has also coached two College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans, two Fastpitch News All-Americans and an ECAC D3 Rookie of the Year.

"This is a great honor for Coach Rush and her family," stated W&J's Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Athletics Scott McGuinness. "She was a great Division III softball player, and we are so happy to see her receive this recognition. Congrats coach!"

Rush graduated from Marietta College in 2013 with a degree in Sport Management. Rush and her husband Nic are the parents of son Raymond and reside in Washington, Pennsylvania.

The Hall of Fame ceremony begins with a reception at 6 p.m. and the banquet begins at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, February 15, in the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center.
