GENEVA, Ohio - The Washington & Jefferson College track & field teams wrapped competition at the annual SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games hosted at the SPIRE Institute.

Dominic Flitcraft (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) kicked off the weekend for the Presidents at the YSU Last Chance Invitational hosted by Division I Youngstown State University on Friday (Feb. 13). Flitcraft competed in the 5,000-meter run, racing his way to a third-place finish and a personal-best time of 14:49.66. Flitcraft was only bested by two Division I runners from Robert Morris and Duquesne.

Tavan Schoenberger (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) led the men's field athletes at the SPIRE Institute. The junior jumper's best finish came in the triple jump, finishing third with a top jump of 12.92m (42' 4.75"). Schoenberger also finished 23rd in the long jump with a mark of 5.78 meters (18' 11.75").

Anthony Cestaro III (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers) made the 60-meter dash finals, racing to a time of 7.01 seconds to take eighth place. The senior sprinter also finished sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.18.

Maria Gilles (North Ridgeville, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) led the W&J women at the 2026 SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games. The senior raced her way to a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.20.

Sarah Schneider (Warren, Ohio/Lordstown) posted a productive day on the track and in the jump events. The senior jumper highlighted the day with an eighth-place finish in the long jump with a top leap of 4.78 meters (15' 8.25"). In the 60-meter hurdles, she missed the finals by one placement finishing 11
th with a time of 9.80 in the prelims.

Ella Neil (California, Pa./California Area) posted a seventh-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 9.96 meters (32' 8.25").

The W&J track & field teams return to action on Friday (Feb. 20) at the Muskie Meet #4 hosted by Muskingum University. Action is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. at the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex.
