Anderson, Flitcraft and Women’s DMR Highlight W&J at the Indoor PAC Championships

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College track & field teams wrapped the one-day 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships with multiple accolades. The W&J men finished in a tie for fourth place with 60 team points while the women finished sixth with 59 team points.
 
The distance medley relay team including Maria Gilles (North Ridgeville, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy), Myleigh Mashburn (Monongahela, Pa./Ringgold), Cali LaRue (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour), Claire Anderson (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) raced their way to a first-place finish with a new PAC record time of 12:14.84. The new conference best time is currently 26th in the nation.
 
Along with the group PAC record, Anderson went on to break another conference mark in the 5,000-meter run. The senior standout paced her way to a first-place finish with a conference record time of 16:54.90.
 
Dominic Flitcraft (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) led the W&J men's team with a first-place finish in the 5,000-meter run. Flitcraft completed the Presidents' sweep in the event with a time of 15:14.4. The junior captain also won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:59.95.
 
Maria Gilles (North Ridgeville, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) posted a career day on the track, racing to a personal-best in the mile run with a personal-best time of 5:03.48 to place third. Chloe LoCastro (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) also placed third in her event, finishing with a time of 10:53.71 in the 3,000-meter run.
 
Anthony Cestaro III (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers) led the men's sprinters with a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.02. Cestaro III also placed sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.04.
 
Nick DeSanto (Erie, Pa./McDowell) led the W&J jumpers with a third-place finish in the high jump with a height of 1.99m (6' 6.25"). DeSanto also finished 12th in the long jump with a distance of 6.20m (20' 4.25"). Matt Kordich (Perryopolis, Pa./Frazier) highlighted the men's throwers with a fourth-place finish in the weight throw with a heave of 14.04m (46' 0.75").
 
The men's DMR team of Wyatt Stroup (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata), Anthony Cestaro III (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers), Anand Karamcheti (Washington, Pa./Washington), Flitcraft finished second at the Indoor Championships with a time of 10:47.57.
 
Sarah Schneider's (Warren, Ohio/Lordstown) day was highlighted by a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, racing to a time of 9.63. She also placed ninth in the long jump with a distance of 4.91m (16' 1.5").
