HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Washington & Jefferson women's tennis team (11-5) fell 6-1 to the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops (5-2) to open up the team's spring 2026 campaign at the historic Van Der Meer Tennis Center in Hilton Head.
Freshman
Keiran Moorhead (Canonsburg, Pa./Peters Township) and junior captain
Claire Loomis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) won a tight 7-6 set at the No. 1 doubles position. The two tandems went back and forth, but Moorhead and Loomis came out on top 8-6 in the set deciding tiebreaker.
Moorhead picked up the lone point for the Presidents with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at the No. 3 singles position.
The Presidents return to action tomorrow (March 11) to take on the Rhodes Lynx. The first ball will be at 9:30 a.m. from the Hilton Head Resort.
