MANHEIM, Pa. – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) honored two Washington & Jefferson College wrestling student-athletes when it announced the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-America awards for individual and team recipients.

Receiving individual honors were Vitali Daniels (Scenery Hill, Pa./Bentworth) and Josh Smith (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra). This marks the 17th consecutive year that W&J has had at least one NWCA Scholar All-American. W&J has had multiple Scholar All-Americans in 11 consecutive seasons.

A total of 540 student-athletes representing 92 institutions were recognized for their academic success in the classroom while competing throughout the season.

Sophomores Smith and Daniels made their first appearances as NWCA Scholar All-Americans. Smith finished his shortened season with an 11-3 record while Daniels capped his first year as a President with a 25-4 record. Both sophomores are business administration majors.

"These student-athletes have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence both on the mat and in the classroom. We commend their dedication and the example they set for the sport." — NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer.
