HIRAM, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College men's lacrosse team (2-5, 1-0) opened Presidents' Athletic Conference play with a 9-8 thrilling win in overtime over the Hiram Terriers (4-4, 0-1).
Freshman
Ryan Mey (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) helped lead the Presidents with two goals and two assists, including the game-winner. Mey had five total shots and three ground balls. Senior captain
Braden Petrarco (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) netted a hat trick in the PAC clash and had five ground balls.
It was a defensive battle to start the contest as each team only found the back of the net one time through the opening 15 minutes. Mey scored his first of the evening from an assist by sophomore

Colin Golebiewski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) scored the lone goal of the second quarter for W&J.
W&J responded with a strong third quarter to bring the game back to a 6-6 deadlock. Golebiewski scored his second of the game, and Petrarco netted all three of the senior's goals after the halftime interval.
Freshman
Braydon Reighard (Oakdale, Pa./South Fayette) scored two goals in the final frame to keep the game tied and send the contest to overtime, 8-8. W&J found one final way through the Hiram defense as Mey broke the stalemate from a Petrarco assist to give the Red & Black the golden-goal win.
Junior captain
Stephen Moschetta (Washington, Pa./Trinity) made 16 saves throughout the PAC contest.
W&J returns to Alexandre Stadium for the beginning of a three-game homestand. The first of three games in Washington will be on Sunday (March 22) against the La Roche Redhawks. The game will begin at 12:00 p.m.
