Men’s Lacrosse Falls in Non-Conference Play to Moravian

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College men's lacrosse team (1-4) dropped a non-conference game to visiting Moravian University (5-1) by a 20-1 score Sunday evening at Alexandre Stadium.

Junior goalkeeper Stephen Moschetta (Washington, Pa./Trinity) made a career-high 25 saves in the loss. Freshman midfielder Ryan Mey (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) scored a third quarter goal, tallied three caused turnovers and added two ground balls.

Freshman midfielder Aaron Alfer (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) won nine face-off wins and collected four ground balls. A trio of Presidents, sophomore Jaxon Specht (Oakdale, Pa./Chartiers Valley), junior Logan Waychoff (Washington, Pa./Trinity) and senior Braden Petrarco (Irwin, Pa./Norwin), finished with three ground balls apiece.

Following the postponement of Monday's scheduled game at La Roche, W&J is now scheduled to return to action on Saturday (March 14) at Hanover College. The match is scheduled for an 11 a.m. start.
