LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College track & field teams concluded action at the Bison Outdoor Classic, hosted by Division I Bucknell.
Claire Anderson (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) highlighted the first night for the Presidents, winning the 10,000-meter run. Anderson's new personal-best time of 34:07.20, shattered the previous record held by Kristen Galligan in 2013 (35:50.56). The mark also currently stands as the fastest time in all of NCAA Division III. Anderson bested runners across the landscape of the NCAA (Divisions I, II, III) to reach the record time.
Dominic Flitcraft (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) raced his way to a 35
th place finish in the 10,000-meter run. The junior captain finished with a new personal-best time of 30:45.67, currently the fastest time in the Presidents' Athletic Conference this season.
Maria Gilles (North Ridgeville, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) wrapped the weekend topping her best career time in the 1,500-meter run. The senior raced her way to a sixth-place finish and personal-best time of 4:40.31, currently the second fastest time in the conference.
Cali LaRue (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) finished 56
th in the 1,500-meter run with a personal-best time of 4:55.00.
Freshman
Wyatt Stroup (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata) finished 30
th out of 64 total runners in the 1,500-meter run. Stroup's new personal-best time of 4:02.71 is currently the fastest 1,500 ran in the PAC this season.
Chloe LoCastro (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) led the W&J women's runners in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. The senior coasted to a 26th place finish with a time of 11:28.65, the second fastest time in program history.
Genevieve Ruth (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville Broadview Heights) finished spots behind LoCastro, taking 37
th with a time of 11:43.19. Ruth's time was a personal best by 28 seconds, ranking second in the PAC so far this season.
Anthony Cestaro III (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers) capped the Presidents' competitors on Sunday, racing in the 100- and 200-meter dash. Cestaro III finished 19
th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.91. In the 100-meter dash, the senior sprinter took 20
th with a mark of 11.02.
The Presidents return to action on Friday (April 17) to compete at the Benson Hodge Memorial Invitational hosted by Division I Robert Morris University.
