WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College men's lacrosse team (6-9, 3-4) dropped a 22-2 verdict to the Saint Vincent Bearcats (8-6, 6-2) Wednesday afternoon.
The Presidents lone scorers on the day were
Braden Petrarco (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) and
William Fenimore (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan). Each scored unassisted goals for the Presidents. Five Presidents led the team in ground balls including
Logan Waychoff (Washington, Pa./Trinity),
Jack Dufalla (Washington, Pa./Trinity),
Caden Bazzoli (Washington, Pa./Trinity),
Ryan Mey (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) and Petrarco. Eight Presidents caused one turnover throughout the contest.
W&J was shutout in the opening three quarters of play, going down 19-0. In the fourth quarter, Petrarco snapped the Presidents' scoring drought with a goal at the 12:34 mark. Shortly after in the fourth, Fenimore scored a man-up goal with 7:08 left in the contest.
The Bearcats added an additional three goals in the remaining time, en route to the 22-2 decision.
Stephen Moschetta (Washington, Pa./Trinity) saved 15 shots in 51:15 minutes of time in goal for W&J.
John Novoselich (Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y./James I. Oneill) had one save in the remaining 8:45 minutes of action.
The Presidents return to action on the road to face the Westminster Titans on Saturday (April 18). Action in New Wilmington is set to start at 4:00 p.m.
