LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Washington & Jefferson College volleyball team was one of 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams to earn the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2025-2026 academic year. A total of 267 Division III women's teams were recognized on Thursday (July 23).
 
The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.
 
It marks the eighth time in program history that W&J has been recognized with the AVCA Team Academic Award. The squad finished with a cumulative 3.54 team grade-point average for the 2025-26 academic year.
 
The team placed seven student-athletes on the Presidents' Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll and recorded a 3.32 team GPA during the 2025 Fall semester.
 
W&J opens its 2026 season, under fifth-year head coach Lindsey Llewellyn, on Tuesday (Sept. 1) in the Salvitti Family Gymnasium for a match against Muskingum.
