MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Washington & Jefferson College sophomore
Grant Lefeld (Northfield, Ohio/Nordonia) and junior
Dante DeRubbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity) have been named Third Team Preseason All-Americans selected by D3football.com, announced on Wednesday (Aug. 12).
Â
Lefeld is the Presidents' first Preseason All-American offensive lineman since Andrew Reo prior to the 2018 season. Lefeld is one of six sophomores on the D3football.com Preseason All-America Teams.
Â
Lefeld was named to the D3football.com Second Team All-Region following his freshman campaign. The W&J guard helped limit opponents to only 21 sacks on the season, just under two per game. He was one of two freshmen on the All-Region 2 list as a freshman, the highest finishing first year in the region.
Â
Lefeld opened gaps for W&J rushers to score 32 touchdowns. Lefeld headed an offensive line that helped W&J rank 14th nationally in scoring offenses among Division III institutions, averaging 43.5 points per game. Lefeld was one of only three freshmen to receive All-PAC First or Second Team honors last season.
Â
DeRubbo is the Presidents' first Preseason All-American defensive back since Joey Koroly prior to the 2020 season.
Â
DeRubbo finished the 2025 season with seven interceptions, which tied for the fifth most in school history. The junior finished with 22 total tackles, five pass breakups and one forced fumble last season. DeRubbo was named a D3football.com Third Team All-Region, All-PAC Second Team and All-ECAC First Team honoree after completing his first full season as a starter.
Â
W&J opens the 2026 season with a road tilt against Utica on Saturday (Sept. 5). Kickoff at Cameron Stadium is set for 12:00 p.m.
