Match Recap: Men's Tennis | | Alec Beaudin, Assistant Sports Information Director

Men’s Tennis Concludes Play at the Allegheny Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Washington and Jefferson College men's tennis team finished up play at the rain shortened Allegheny Invitational. The team picked up three singles victories at the event.
 
Freshman Steven Duing (South Park, Pa./South Park) picked up a straight sets victory with a 7-5, 6-0 scoreline. Additionally, senior Srivatsa Bellamkonda (Sewickley, Pa./North Allegheny) won 6-4, 6-4 in two tight sets. Senior Nick Bussard (New Kensington, Pa./Valley) won with a straightforward 6-1, 6-2 scoreline as well. Sophomore Colby Peters (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) went toe-to-toe with his opponent but fell just short with two close 6-3 sets.
 
In doubles play, sophomore Tyler Urbanic (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) and freshman Caden Smith (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) battled to the end, but ultimately fell in a tight 6-3 set.
 
The Presidents close out the fall season on Saturday Sept. 26 when they travel to take on the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets. Doubles matches will begin at 11:00 a.m. and singles matches will follow.
