THE SERIES: Washington & Jefferson football travels to DiSanto Field in Cleveland to face off with Case Western Reserve for the 26th meeting between the schools. The rivalry dates back to 1970, when W&J first faced off with CWRU for the first time following the merger of Case Institute of Technology and Western Reserve University. The Presidents lead the series 15-10, including wins in each of the last three games between the squads. W&J holds a 6-3 advantage over the Spartans in games played since CWRU's return to the PAC as a football affiliate in 2014.

RICH TRADITION: The Washington & Jefferson football program has won 799 games in its 132-year history (799–409–40), ranking third among NCAA Division III schools behind Mount Union (880) and Wittenberg (809). Widener (737) and Wabash (736) round out the D-III top five. Across all NCAA divisions, the Presidents' win total places them in a tie with Texas A&M for 22nd all-time. The program's 28 PAC titles stand as the most in league history and its 28 NCAA Playoff appearances are the third-most among Division III schools. W&J football also holds a streak of 42 consecutive winning seasons, the third longest active streak of its kind trailing only Linfield (69) and Mount Union (47).
 
STARTING OUT SHARP: After a 153-yard performance in the season opener, Andrew Sharp (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) had another dominant effort in week two against Keystone. The junior totaled 100 scrimmage yards (92 rushing, 8 receiving) and a touchdown prior to the game being called at the half.
 
HALFWAY HOME: W&J has thrived under Mike Sirianni when leading at halftime, posting a 161–6 record (.964) in such games.
 
W&J VS. THE PAC: W&J has won 14 consecutive PAC games with an average margin of victory of 34.4 points. The Presidents maintain a winning record against every current PAC program.

SWEET SEPTEMBER: W&J has had consistent success in the month of September under Mike Sirianni, going 71-15 (.823) since his arrival in 2003. The Presidents are 1-1 in the month this season.
 
800 CLUB: The W&J Presidents stand at 799 wins in program history. This week against Case Western Reserve, the Presidents will look to become the 22nd NCAA program, and third Division III program, to reach the milestone.
 
DEEP BALL DESABATO: Junior wide receiver Joey DeSabato (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler Area) put together six catch, 124-yard performance against Keystone. DeSabato scored on a 55-yard touchdown pass from Derek Burk (Gibsonia, Pa./Deer Lakes), the longest scoring pass for the Presidents since October 26, 2024, when John Peduzzi (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Christian Academy) '25 scored on a 66-yard pass from Jake Pugh '25.
 
BOYCE WILL BE BOYCE: The W&J pass rush had an excellent showing against Keystone, recording four sacks and seven tackles for loss. Alex Boyce (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette) was the catalyst, as he recorded 2.5 sacks and four total tackles for loss. The sophomore was named PAC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the game.
 
SATURDAY NIGHT'S ALRIGHT: The matchup between W&J and CWRU will take place under the lights at DiSanto Field. It is the fourth time in the last five matchups between the programs that the matchup will be played at night. The Presidents have had done well at night, going 11-3 in night games during the 2020's.
 
WHAT'S THE CASE?: The CWRU Spartans enter the matchup with a 2-0 record after defeating Rochester and Shenandoah in non-conference play. The Spartans have been led by a balanced offense, averaging 43 points per game with 183.5 rushing yards per game and 284 passing yards per game. Graduate senior quarterback Aaron Filips has had an efficient start to the season, going 50-64 (78.1%) for 568 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions. The standout for CWRU in last week's win over Shenandoah was junior running back Andy Kavcic, who set the program's single-game record with 256 rushing yards. The Spartans have not been quite as clean on the defensive side of the ball, allowing 30.5 points per game thus far. Shenandoah threw for 414 yards and four touchdowns against CWRU.
 
NATE THE GREAT: W&J defensive end Nathaniel Kadosh-Harris (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) has made his mark early in the season. The senior has recorded 11 tackles, two of which were for loss, and recovered a fumble and returned it three yards for a touchdown against Keystone. This week against CWRU, he will look to repeat last year's performance against the Spartans, when he recorded two key strip sacks to help seal the game in the second half.
