THE SERIES: The Washington & Jefferson Presidents host the Saint Francis Red Wolves for the fourth meeting on the gridiron between the programs. It is the first meeting since Saint Francis began its transition to NCAA Division III. W&J leads the series 2-1.

RICH TRADITION: The Washington & Jefferson football program has won 805 games in its 132-year history (805-409-40), third among NCAA Division III schools behind Mount Union (885) and Wittenberg (809). Wabash (737) and Widener (737) round out the D-III top five. Across all NCAA divisions, the Presidents' win total ranks 22nd all-time. W&J's 29 PAC titles are the most in league history, and its 28 NCAA Playoff appearances are the third-most among Division III schools. The program also has 43 consecutive winning seasons, the third-longest active streak, trailing only Linfield (70) and Mount Union (48).

HALFWAY HOME: Under Mike Sirianni, W&J is 167-6 (.965) when leading at halftime.

THREE-PEAT: With last week's win over Grove City, the Presidents clinched their third consecutive PAC Championship and 29th overall. It is W&J's first three-peat since the Presidents won league titles in 2012, 2013 and 2014. W&J also claimed the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Playoffs for the third straight season, which will be the program's 29th playoff appearance.

STAYING SHARP: Junior Andrew Sharp (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) has put together a 2026 campaign that ranks among the best in Division III. The Presidents' lead back is the nation's leader in total touchdowns, rushing scores and total points, and he ranks in the top 10 in all-purpose yards, rushing yards and yards per carry. Sharp earned PAC Offensive Player of the Week and D3football.com Team of the Week honors for the second time this season after a five-touchdown performance against Grove City. He also crossed the 1,000-yard rushing mark on the season, becoming the first President to do so since Jordan West in 2018.

TAKE IT AWAY: The W&J defense has forced 21 turnovers this season, 11th in Division III. The Presidents have picked off 14 passes, ninth in the nation.

W&J VS. THE PAC: The Presidents have won 20 consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference games by an average margin of 38 points. The Presidents maintain a winning record against every current PAC program.

PRESIDENTIAL PRESSURE: The W&J pass rush has been dominant this season, with 55 tackles for loss and 24 sacks through eight games. Sophomore defensive tackle Alex Boyce (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette) leads the way with 7.5 sacks. He is joined by Nathaniel Kadosh-Harris (Irwin, Pa./Norwin), Brock Sherman (Copley, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) and Antoine Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) as Presidents with at least five tackles for loss. Sherman has added 5.5 sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss as an off-ball linebacker. Smith was the standout against Grove City last week, with two sacks and three tackles for loss, earning PAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

HOME SWEET HOME: The Presidents have won 65 of their last 71 games at home, a .915 winning percentage. W&J has won eight straight home games, with its last loss at Cameron Stadium coming on September 6, 2025, against Utica. The Presidents look to go 5-0 at home during the regular season for the first time since 2023.

GROUND AND POUND: The Presidents topped 300 rushing yards for the fourth time this season, with a 310-yard performance against Grove City. It was just the 19th time W&J has reached the milestone under Mike Sirianni. The Presidents have recorded a rushing touchdown in 34 consecutive games.

ON THE AIR WITH WJPA: Bob Gregg has been the voice of W&J football on WJPA Radio since the 1984 season opener. During that span, the Presidents have recorded 377 wins, a winning percentage above .800, 28 PAC titles, and two Stagg Bowl appearances. Gregg and longtime broadcast partner Mark Uriah received the Dow Carnahan Media Award at PAC Football Media Day in 2023. Uriah has since retired from the booth, while Gregg returns for his 43rd season covering W&J football. He is joined by Jack Sacco for the 2026 season.

THE NEW KID IN TOWN: Freshman quarterback Braylon Wagner (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) has been one of the nation's most dynamic players since taking over in the second half of W&J's third game of the season against Case Western Reserve. Last week he faced his toughest test yet, a strong Grove City defense, and passed with flying colors. He rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown and completed 10 of 14 passes for 133 yards and another score. Wagner has earned PAC weekly honors four times this season.

RED WOLVES REPORT: Saint Francis moved to NCAA Division III from the Division I Football Championship Subdivision and joined the Presidents' Athletic Conference as a full-time athletic member. The Red Wolves are in a transition period, which means games against them do not count as official NCAA contests. Saint Francis is still searching for its first win as a PAC member and holds a 0-6 record.

KEEP 'EM OFF THE BOARD: W&J has allowed just six touchdowns this season. The Presidents have recorded three shutouts and have held opponents under 10 points in six of eight games.

DOGS OF WAR: W&J's offensive line has adopted a tough, road-grader mentality under offensive line coach Todd Pivnick '94. The Presidents' offense runs through a youthful starting line with two sophomores, two juniors and just one senior. The unit has kept starting quarterback Braylon Wagner (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) clean, allowing just two sacks this season.
