THE SERIES: The Washington & Jefferson Presidents host the Grove City Wolverines at Cameron Stadium for the 61st meeting between the programs. W&J leads the series 46-14, including a 25-7 edge at home. The Presidents have won 20 of the 22 meetings in the Mike Sirianni era, including 12 of the last 13. Grove City's lone win in that span came in 2023, a 31-24 victory in Grove City. The Wolverines have not won in Washington since 1998.

rich tradition: The Washington & Jefferson football program has won 804 games in its 132-year history (803-409-40), third among NCAA Division III schools behind Mount Union (884) and Wittenberg (809). Wabash (737) and Widener (737) round out the D-III top five. Across all NCAA divisions, the Presidents' win total ranks 22nd all-time. W&J's 28 PAC titles are the most in league history, and its 28 NCAA Playoff appearances are the third-most among Division III schools. The program also has 43 consecutive winning seasons, the third-longest active streak, trailing only Linfield (69) and Mount Union (47).

HALFWAY HOME: Under Mike Sirianni, W&J is 166-6 (.965) when leading at halftime.

43 STRAIGHT WINNING SEASONS: With last week's win at Thiel, W&J football clinched its 43rd consecutive winning season. The streak dates back to the 1984 season, which was also the first season the Presidents appeared in the NCAA playoffs.

W&J VS. THE PAC: The Presidents have won 19 consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference games by an average margin of 38.5 points. The Presidents maintain a winning record against every current PAC program.

Total                                                                392-126-6 (.757)

STAYING SHARP: Junior Andrew Sharp (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) has put together a 2026 campaign that ranks among the best in Division III. The Presidents' lead back is tied with three others for the national lead in touchdowns, points scored, and points per game, and he also ranks in the top five in rushing yards and yards per carry.

KEEP 'EM OFF THE BOARD: W&J has allowed just four touchdowns this season, and the defense has given up only three of them. The Presidents have recorded three shutouts and have not allowed a team to score more than seven points since the season opener at Utica. Going back to last season, W&J has shut out four consecutive opponents at home.

TAKE IT AWAY: The W&J defense has forced 21 turnovers this season, sixth in Division III. The Presidents have picked off 14 passes, including 10 in the last three games.

PAC PICTURE: W&J can clinch at least a share of the PAC championship, along with the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, with a win this week over Grove City. Next week's game against Saint Francis does not count in the conference standings because of the school's transition to Division III, meaning the Presidents could have, at most, one loss in conference play. In the scenario where W&J would lose the season finale against Westminster, the Presidents would hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over any other potential one-loss team. If Grove City wins, its matchup with Case Western Reserve would likely decide the league's automatic bid.

ON THE AIR WITH WJPA: Bob Gregg has been the voice of W&J football on WJPA Radio since the 1984 season opener. During that span, the Presidents have recorded more than 300 wins, a winning percentage above .800, 27 PAC titles, and two Stagg Bowl appearances. Gregg and longtime broadcast partner Mark Uriah received the Dow Carnahan Media Award at PAC Football Media Day in 2023. Uriah has since retired from the booth, while Gregg returns for his 43rd season covering W&J football. He will be joined by Jack Sacco and Jack's father, John Sacco, the 2025 Carnahan Award recipient.

THE NEW KID IN TOWN: Freshman quarterback Braylon Wagner (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) has burst onto the scene, throwing 14 touchdown passes in his first four career starts. He has also shown off his explosive rushing ability, topping 100 rushing yards twice this season. For his performance last week against Thiel, Wagner was named PAC Newcomer of the Week. It was the third time this season he has earned the award and the fourth consecutive game in which he has received a weekly honor from the conference. The freshman now faces his biggest challenge to date in a strong Grove City defense that has been effective at limiting opposing passing attacks.

SCOUTING GROVE CITY: The Wolverines are one of the best teams in the nation at protecting the football. Their four turnovers lost are tied for the third fewest in Division III. Grove City averages 161.1 rushing yards and 214.4 passing yards per game. Sophomore quarterback Mike Hollomon has been successful while protecting the ball, and his 17 passing touchdowns are tied for 19th in the division. He has not thrown an interception since the second game of the season.

On defense, the Wolverines have allowed a 95.11 passing efficiency rating, which ranks 12th in Division III. That number is largely influenced by Grove City's 12 interceptions. The Wolverines have allowed 158.3 rushing yards per game.

Grove City is plus-10 in turnover margin, trailing only W&J in the PAC, and averages 31:53 in time of possession.

GROUND AND POUND: The Presidents rolled up 269 rushing yards against Thiel. W&J has cleared 150 rushing yards in all seven games this season and averages 275.6 rushing yards per game. The Presidents have scored a rushing touchdown in 33 consecutive games.

SATURDAY NIGHT'S ALRIGHT: W&J and Grove City will play under the lights at Cameron Stadium. It is the third consecutive meeting between the programs to be played at night. The Presidents are 12-3 in night games during the 2020s.

PAC WEEK 8 RECAP

Grove City 47, Waynesburg 7: Three different Grove City rushers found the end zone as the Wolverines rolled up 209 rushing yards. Grove City held Waynesburg passers to 11-of-27 for 107 yards and an interception.

Case Western Reserve 38, Hiram 0: The Spartans won their fourth straight game and shut out the Terriers behind a rush defense that allowed just 37 yards on the ground. CWRU quarterback Pierce Olsen passed for 299 yards and three touchdowns.

Westminster 54, Saint Francis 23: Westminster's Jayveerh White topped 100 rushing yards for the fourth straight game and added four touchdowns. The Titans held Saint Francis to 9-of-23 passing for 127 yards.

Allegheny 46, Bethany 29: The Gators pulled away after entering the fourth quarter with a 32-29 lead. Carson Colucci threw a touchdown pass and then rushed for a 15-yard score to put the game away.

Saint Vincent 24, Geneva 21: Despite being outgained by 156 yards, Saint Vincent won by three when Patrick Connolly intercepted Geneva quarterback Caleb Romano's potential game-winning touchdown pass in the end zone.
