THE SERIES: The Washington & Jefferson Presidents travel to Greenville for the 78th meeting with the Thiel College Tomcats. W&J leads the all-time series 53-22-2 and has won 42 of the last 43 matchups, including each of the last 19. Under head coach Mike Sirianni, the Presidents are 21-1 against Thiel. The Tomcats' last win in the series came on October 1, 2005, during their most recent PAC Championship season.

RICH TRADITION: The Washington & Jefferson football program has won 803 games in its 132-year history (803-409-40), third among NCAA Division III schools behind Mount Union (883) and Wittenberg (809). Wabash (737) and Widener (737) round out the D-III top five. Across all NCAA divisions, the Presidents' win total ranks 22nd all-time. W&J's 28 PAC titles are the most in league history, and its 28 NCAA Playoff appearances are the third-most among Division III schools. The program also has 42 consecutive winning seasons, the third-longest active streak, trailing only Linfield (69) and Mount Union (47).

HALFWAY HOME: Under Mike Sirianni, W&J is 165-6 (.965) when leading at halftime.

CAN'T BLOCK BROCK: Junior linebacker Brock Sherman (Copley, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) has established himself as one of the PAC's top defenders. Against Allegheny, he made 10 tackles, two of them for a loss, including a sack.

W&J VS. THE PAC: The Presidents have won 18 consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference games by an average margin of 37.4 points. The Presidents maintain a winning record against every current PAC program.

STARTING OUT SHARP: Junior Andrew Sharp (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) turned in another dominant performance last week against Allegheny, rushing for 109 yards and two touchdowns and adding two catches for 38 yards. Sharp has topped 100 rushing yards in five of W&J's six games this season. The lone performance where Sharp did not reach the milestone was a 94-yard performance against Keystone, which was ended at halftime due to weather. Sharp looks to become the first President to rush for 1,000 yards in a season since Jordan West in 2018.

KEEP 'EM OFF THE BOARD: W&J has not allowed a touchdown in three consecutive games, or in four of its last five. The Presidents last gave up a touchdown on September 26 against Case Western Reserve. The defense has posted three shutouts this season, the most in a season since 2005, and W&J has shut out four consecutive opponents at home going back to last season.

PICKED FOR SIX: Junior safety Rudy Morris (Bridgeville, Pa./Chartiers Valley) and sophomore linebacker Nico Mauro (Washington, Pa./Trinity) picked off their first pass of the season and ran them back for touchdowns against Allegheny. Morris scored on a 50-yard return before Mauro returned his interception 85 yards to the end zone. The game marked the first time the Presidents returned two interceptions for touchdowns in a single contest since Oct. 1, 2022, also against Allegheny.

ON THE AIR WITH WJPA: Bob Gregg has been the voice of W&J football on WJPA Radio since the 1984 season opener. During that span, the Presidents have recorded more than 300 wins, a winning percentage above .800, 27 PAC titles, and two Stagg Bowl appearances. Gregg and longtime broadcast partner Mark Uriah received the Dow Carnahan Media Award at PAC Football Media Day in 2023. Uriah has since retired from the booth, while Gregg returns for his 43rd season covering W&J football. He will be joined by Jack Sacco and Jack's father, John Sacco, the 2025 Carnahan Award recipient.

THE NEW KID IN TOWN: Freshman quarterback Braylon Wagner (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) has burst onto the scene, throwing ten touchdown passes across his first three career starts. Wagner has also shown off his explosive rushing ability, topping 100 yards twice on the season. For his efforts last week against Allegheny, Wagner was named PAC Offensive Player of the Week. It marked the third consecutive game that Wagner earned a weekly honor from the conference, with him named PAC Newcomer of the Week for each of the previous two performances. Wagner became the first freshman President to earn the honor since Jesse Zubik did so in 2014.

GROUND AND POUND: The Presidents rolled up 266 rushing yards against Allegheny, which entered the game as one of the nation's best run defenses. W&J has cleared 150 rushing yards in every game this season and averages 276.7 rushing yards per game. W&J has scored a rushing TD in 32 consecutive games.

HOLLER AT YOUR BOY: Sophomore safety Cory Holleran (Kill Buck, N.Y./Salamanca) had a big week against his former team. Holleran picked off a first quarter pass to thwart an early scoring chance for Allegheny. Holleran then added three pass breakups and seven tackles.

THE STREAK CONTINUES?: W&J can clinch a 43rd consecutive winning season with a win this week against Thiel.

SCOUTING THIEL: The Presidents travel to Greenville to face the 0-6 Thiel Tomcats, who have struggled on both sides of the ball, averaging 231.2 yards per game on offense while allowing 486.7 yards per game on defense.

Thiel has had particular trouble stopping the run, allowing 261.2 rushing yards per game, and the pass defense has given up 225.5 yards per game. On offense, the Tomcats average 159.8 passing yards and 71.3 rushing yards per game.

Turnovers have also hurt Thiel, which has a minus-11 turnover margin through six games (5 turnovers gained, 16 lost).

PAC WEEK 7 RECAP

Saint Vincent 17, Saint Francis 14: Saint Francis again fell short of its first win in Division III, surrendering a 7-0 halftime lead. Jake Phillips led the Bearcats on offense with 226 passing yards, a passing touchdown, and a rushing score.

Grove City 52, Hiram 7: The Wolverines totaled 434 yards against the Terriers, with Darviae Gray catching eight passes for 93 yards and a touchdown. Grove City also recorded five sacks.

Case Western Reserve 41, Waynesburg 6: The Spartans rolled up 244 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Yaw Gyamfi had two long pick-sixes, returning a first-quarter interception 70 yards and a fourth-quarter interception 60 yards for touchdowns.

Westminster 14, Geneva 13: Westminster held off Geneva in an evenly fought contest. A third-quarter touchdown gave the Golden Tornadoes a 13-7 lead, but Westminster answered immediately with a touchdown catch by Simeir Wade from Quentin Goode, taking a 14-13 lead for good.
