TRAFFORD, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College freshman
Braylon Wagner (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) has been chosen as the Presidents' Athletic Conference Football Newcomer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday (Oct. 26). This is the third time this season that Wagner has been selected for this award.
Wagner had a dominant performance to help the Presidents secure their 43rd consecutive winning season in a 65-7 win over Thiel. He passed for 178 yards, two touchdowns and a 12-for-12 mark through the air and also rushed for a TD. Wagner's first score was a 19-yard touchdown toss in the first quarter before he added a 15-yard rushing touchdown on the second play of the second quarter to grow the lead to 42-7. He capped his first-half scoring barrage with a 11-yard passing touchdown with 4:06 left before halftime.
The Red & Black return to Cameron Stadium on Saturday (Oct. 31) to square off with the visiting Grove City Wolverines on Halloween night. Opening kickoff is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. start.
