LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College cross country teams completed action at the Lock Haven Invitational, hosted by Division II Lock Haven. The men's team finished 14
th while the women finished 16
th on the crimson courses.
Dominic Flitcraft (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) led the W&J men's team with a sixth-place finish on the men's crimson course. Flitcraft worked his way to a season-best time of 25:02.4. Flitcraft was only bested by runners from Division II Northwood and Division III Messiah and Lebanon Valley.
Sophomore
Jacob Derry (Canonsburg, Pa./Corry Area) moved into ninth place in school history with a time of 26:01.9. Derry finished 36
th of the 184 runner field. Fellow sophomore
Wyatt Stroup (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata) finished 51
st with a time of 26:21.1.
Cali LaRue (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) posted a career day at the Lock Haven Invitational, reaching a new personal-best time at the meet. The senior raced to the seventh fastest time in school history with a mark of 23:23.4.
Genevieve Ruth (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville Broadview Heights) finished in the top 80, placing 76
th with a mark of 23:57.4.
The Presidents return to the course on Saturday (Oct. 10) at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. The men's race will commence at 10:00 a.m. followed by the women's race at 10:45 a.m.
