Josh Etzel '14 rejoined the Washington & Jefferson wrestling program as a volunteer assistant coach prior to the 2016-17 campaign.

Etzel was a three-time NCAA qualifier and Presidents' Athletic Conference champion for W&J. In 2013 he earned All-America honors after finishing sixth in the 157-pound weight class.

He was also a three-time National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American and was twice named a first team Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Etzel finished his career with 97 victories and a .843 winning percentage, which rank him fifth and sixth, respectively in those categories. His 37 wins during his junior season in 2013 are the most in a single-season for a president.

Etzel graduated from W&J with a degree in biochemistry and was awarded a prestigious NCAA postgraduate scholarship. He used his scholarship toward medical school at Lake Erie College of Medicine (LECOM) at Seton Hill University.
