Nick Carr '16 returns to Washington & Jefferson College as a volunteer assistant wrestling coach before the 2016-17 season.
Carr is the only NCAA Division III National Champion in W&J wrestling history after he defeated Reece Lefever of Wabash, 6-2, in the finals of the 157-pound bracket at the 2015 Championships. He finished his junior season with a perfect 27-0 record after a sophomore campaign that saw him drop his only match in the championship round of the 165-pound bracket.
Carr finished his career in red & black with a school-record .976 winning percentage and 41-1 record.Â
A two-time Presidents' Athletic Conference champion, he was also a 2015 National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American and a 2015 Academic All-American, as named by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
