Zach Brown

  • Title
    Volunteer Assistant Coach
A former West Liberty University wrestling standout Zach Brown joins the W&J wrestling staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2019-20 season.

Brown served the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant coach with the West Liberty wrestling program.

A state champion wrestler at Oak Glen (W.Va.) High School, Brown was a four-year standout for the Black and Gold. The highlight of his West Liberty career came during his junior season when he was a national qualifier at 125 pounds and earned a fourth-place finish in the Super Region One tournament.

Brown was just as impressive in the classroom during his time on the hilltop. A rare four-time member of the National Wrestling Coaches Association’s (NWCA) All-Academic Team, he was the 2016 male recipient of West Liberty’s prestigious Dr. Joseph. A. Bartell Memorial Scholarship. The Bartell Scholarships are awarded annually to the male and female student-athletes who excel in academics, athletics and as a member of the campus community.
