Darian Transue joins the W&J Sports Medicine team as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in August of 2024.
Transue, a familiar face to the Presidents, joins the athletics staff after spending the past year as the Head Athletic Trainer at Penn State Beaver. While at Beaver, Transue acted as the sole athletic trainer for the campus. She oversaw all preventative care, immediate and urgent care, as well as physician referrals and insurance correspondence. Transue worked with men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball, softball and baseball.
Aside from her year of experience at Beaver, Transue has extensive clinical experience. Transue spent a part of the 2023 semester working at W&J. Transue worked with the men's and women's basketball teams as well as the men's and women's lacrosse teams from January through March of 2023. During her time at W&J, she honed her athletic training skills and created individual rehab programs for athletes, communicated with coaches and worked to helped with injury prevention.
She spent the fall 2022 semester working with the University of Pittsburgh. During that clinical experience, Transue worked with women's soccer and baseball. Earlier in 2022 during the spring semester, she had clinical experience at Hocking College. She worked with football, m/w basketball, baseball and softball at Hocking.
During her time as an undergrad at the University of Maryland, she interned with the Sports Medicine team.
Transue earned her bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland in May of 2021. She then went on to earn her master of science degree in Athletic Training from Ohio University in May of 2023.
She holds memberships with the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association and the Ohio Athletic Trainers' Association.
