Presidents Fall at Hood In 2014 Opener

Box Score FREDRICK, Md. -- Hood (Md.) ran out to an eight-goal halftime lead and cruised past Washington & Jefferson 9-1 in women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.  The game marked the debut of W&J's Alison Valerio, the third head coach in Presidents women's lacrosse history.

Hood extended its lead to 14-1 midway through the second half before W&J closed with two goals from Harvey and another from Alex Dikos.

Harvey had a hand in all four W&J goals with three tallies and one assist.  Kesley Roetenberg suffered the loss in goal after making nine saves.

The Blazers, which outshot W&J by a 31-20 margin, received four goals from Kitzmiller.  Lauren Couch made 10 saves in goal.

The Presidents will be back in action Wednesday night at Allegheny (6:00 pm).
